Respawn And dead Icons
This week we created an icon for both dead players and players that yet have to respawn after a shameful dead.
The skull will replace the portrait of the player when the player runs out of lives completely. When a player gets killed but still has lives, the cross and angel halo and stars will appear on top of the players icon. This way we tried to give more player feedback for when a player dies or has yet to respawn.
Loading Screen
The transition between the character selection screen and the main game screen is a bit long and up until now we only had a transition color popping over. So we fixed a loading screen with a helpful tip. We noticed during play sessions that players don’t really know from the beginning, that when you jump on top of another player, you also kill the player. So we converted it into a tip on top of the loading screen.
Option Menu
We implemented the options menu this week!
Now players will have the opportunity to choose the difficulty by changing the occurence rate of the hazards. This way we gave the players the opportunity to give a personal twist to the game. Who doesn’t want more meateors right?
Also will the players be able to adjust the volume settings if they want.
Player Feedback on skill use
This week we implemented a player feedback on the screen when the time slow and the meateor are used. The freeze will give a freeze overlay and the meateor gives a volcano like overlay.
